THE RETREAT AT VILLA GINEZZO:
A JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY.
Not looking forward to winter?
Well, here’s an alternative to think about.
The Retreat at Villa Ginezzo.
Here you can brush up on your painting. (Artist in Residence, Michael White, BA)
Or bring to life that award winning screenplay in your bottom drawer. (Screenwriter in Residence, Terry Comer BA MA)
Of course you don’t have to paint or write, you can just laze around and think about it. Nothing wrong with that.
To this end, our ‘creative gurus’ will only help you if you want them to.
There are no scheduled classes or courses. After all, it’s a Retreat not a Battle Zone.
You will, however, want to eat and here you’ll be treated to the finest traditional Italian dishes as prepared by our two outstanding Italian/ Melbournian foodies, Lorianda Dale and Susie Gallagher.
Loriana was born in Italy, spent a large part of her life in Australia as a film producer, and cooks authentic Italian cuisine as well as anyone on the planet.
Susie, a well known Oz fashion designer, speaks fluent Italian (as, of course, does Lori) and her chocolate soufflé has to be tasted to be believed.
Every evening they will cook a classic Italian dinner and to accompany the meal they will invite you to speak Italian with them.
Should you want, they will also give you tips on how you can produce the dishes they have already mastered..
And don’t worry about putting the pounds on, if you want to exercise there is no better place on earth for long country walks.
Villa Ginezzo dates from the 16th Century and is situated in its own 7 acres of olive and pine trees in the most beautiful Tuscan countryside with stunning views of the Niccone Valley which forms the border between Tuscany & Umbria.
You are spoilt for choice when it comes to sights to visit and explore in both magical regions Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio, Cortona, Montepulciano are all within easy driving distance and Firenze and Roma are also easily accessible.
The Villa also has its own 12m x 6m swimming pool, boule court and table tennis facilities.
The nearest town is Mercatale just six ks away.
So think about it. Another hum drum winter or a week’s stay in Tuscany at The Retreat at Villa Ginezzo.?
There, didn’t take long, did it?
