The colours of Australia

The colours of Australia
They have a different hue
No other country has them
They belong to me and you

There’s the colour of the waratah
The colour of the joey
The colour of the dessert sand
And the river called the Snowy

There’s the colour of our cities
The colour of The Rock
The colour of the evening skies
And of Jimmy and his stock

There’s the colour of the harbour
The colour of hallowed turf
The colour of the mountain streams
And the colour of the surf

There’s the colour of our dreamtime
The colour of earth so rare
The colour of our children
Some black, some dark, some fair

The colours of Australia
They have a different hue
No other country has them
They belong to me and you
They belong to me and you
